A Management Model of Quality System for Student Affairs in Schools under Primary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The research article aimed at developing a management model of quality system for student affairs in schools under primary educational service area office. The study used the research and development (R&D) technique, and it was conducted in three phases: 1) The first phase involved an investigation into the management approaches of quality system for student affairs in schools. The key informants included four executives of private and state enterprises who received the National Quality Award, as well as five school administrators; 2) The second phase involved the development of a management model of quality system for study affairs by examining its propriety by 12 experts; and 3) The third phase was an assessment of a management model of quality system for student affairs by 362 school administrators and heads of student affairs in the lower Northern region who were chosen by stratified sampling. The obtained data were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.


From the study, the findings found that a management model of quality system for student affairs in schools under primary educational service area office consists of six components as follows: 1) principles and objectives of managing the quality of student affairs; 2) structure for managing the quality of student affairs; 3) management process for the quality of student affairs; 4) the establishment of a committee to manage the quality system for student affairs; 5) the use of technology to support the management of quality system for student affairs; and 6) success factors of quality system for student affairs. After assessing a model for feasibility and utilization, the results revealed that feasibility is at a high level (gif.latex?\bar{x}  = 4.44), while utilization is at the highest level (gif.latex?\bar{x}  = 4.72).
