The Development of Instructional Model Using Cooperative with Team Game Tournament Technique to Promote the Achievement of Learning Thai Language for Communication for Undergraduate Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate problems and the guidelines for developing learning management model to promote learning achievement in Thai language for communication subject; 2) to develop the learning management model; 3) to experiment the learning management model; and 4) to survey the satisfaction of students toward the learning management model. The study used a research and development method with a sample group of 50 undergraduate students from one classroom at Udon Thani Rajabhat University in the academic year 2020, chosen through cluster sampling. The obtained data were analyzed by percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
From the study, the following results are found:
1) There are problems with students' understanding of learning content in Thai for communication subject where they have a moderate level of understanding. The most demanded guidelines for developing students by both teachers and students are cooperative operation, cooperative discussion, and the use of team games tournament. 2) The learning management model consists of five steps: (1) building motivation; (2) co-seeking for information; (3) planning the game; (4) playing the game; and (5) assessing one's understanding. The learning management model is of propriety at the highest level with efficiency according to the 80/80 criteria. 3) The results of experimenting with the learning management model show that students have higher posttest learning achievement than pretest with a statistical significance of 0.05 level. 4) Students have the highest level of satisfaction toward the learning management model.
