Development of a Curriculum for the Government Teachers and Educational Personnel before being Appointed as Deputy Directors and Directors of Educational Institutions under the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education

Abstract

The objectives of this research article are to 1) develop a curriculum, 2) evaluate the consistency of the curriculum, 3) evaluate the efficiency of the curriculum, and 4) study the results of the application of the curriculum. Samples comprise 129 government teachers and educational personnel who were previously selected for appointment as deputy directors and directors of educational institutions under the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education. The study is separated into 2 phases, which are curriculum development and curriculum application. Data analysis is done using statistical software. The results from the study show that: The required skills and attributes for the curriculum are comprised of 1) desired attributes, such as the potential of the educational institute’s administrator, 2) academic leadership, such as the promotion of academic leadership, and 3) administration and management in the educational institute, including authentic learning at the model educational institute. Five experts found that the consistency index value of the curriculum was at a high level from 0.8 to 1.00, which was consistent with the criteria. 2.The efficiency evaluation of the curriculum shows that the average scores, in terms of percentage, are higher than E1/E2 (94.78/83.00) compared to the defined criteria E1/E2 (80/80). 3.The satisfaction evaluation concerning lecturers is very high in every aspect. Satisfaction towards the project is very high in almost all aspects. 4.The results of assessing the development of government teachers and educational personnel show that the participants have higher overall scores than the criteria, both in Part 1: The potential development, and Part 2: The work preparation, presentation, and participation duration.
