Thai Language Instruction Model Based on Sociolinguistics: New Dimension of Instruction

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to develop and acquire a quality Thai language instruction model based on sociolinguistics in order to increase students' abilities to create work in higher education; and 2) to acquire the effectiveness of Thai language instruction model based on sociolinguistics in order to increase students' abilities to create work in higher education by the following procedures: 2.1) comparing the pretest and posttest of Thai instruction learning achievement based on sociolinguistics; and 2.2) investigating the development of students who got a Thai language model based on sociolinguistics in creating work in order to increase students' abilities to create work in higher education. The study employed research and development by way of mixed-methods research. The population and group sample consisted of 30 bachelor degree students in their fourth year who were enrolled in the course "foreign languages in Thai language" in the second semester of the academic year B.E. 2563, who were chosen by cluster sampling. The tools used for the study comprised instruction model, manual, instruction management plan, instruction achievement test, and assessment form testing the ability to create work. The obtained data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis.
From the study, the results found as follows: 1) A model called ‘5A Model’ consists of 4 components including principles, objectives, procedures for carrying out activities, measurement and evaluation; 2) The sample group's learning achievement on the posttest was higher than on the pretest, with a statistical significance of. 05 level; and 3) The development to create work was higher.
