Abstract

The objective of this research were 1) to compare learning achievement of students after using inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique with before using the method, 2) to compare analytical thinking abilities of students after using inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique with before using the method, 3) to study the students’ satisfaction with inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique. The research was One Group Pretest – Posttest Design. The research sample, by random sampling, consisted of 40 students of Mathayomsuksa 3/8 at Horwang School, Bangkok Province, in the second term of 2020 academic year. The research instruments were 1) instructional plans using inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique, 2) pretest-posttest learning achievement test, 3) pretest-posttest analytical thinking abilities test, 4) forms to measure satisfaction with inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and t-test for dependent sample.

The results of study revealed that 1) The learning achievement of students being taught by using inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique were higher than those before at the .05 level of significance, 2) The analytical thinking abilities of students being taught by using inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique were higher than those before at the .05 level of significance, 3) The students’ satisfaction with inquiry learning method (5E) with KWDL technique were at a high level.
