The Development of Model Designed Learning Management of Specialized Vocational Courses of Bachelor of Technology Program in Accounting under the Dual Vocational System Format to Enhance Learners’ Attributes in Accordance with the Career’s Needs

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the present conditions and the needs of characteristics for students of the Bachelor of Technology Program in Accounting, and 2) develop and assess the suitability of the model designed for learning management of specialized vocational courses of the Bachelor of Technology Program in Accounting under the dual vocational education format to enhance learners’ attributes in accordance with the career’s needs. A sample of 145 cases included the course responsible teachers and teacher trainers, using the purposive sampling method. The study was carried out through the research and development format. The research instruments included a questionnaire and the suitability assessment forms with five-rating scale. The statistics used to analyze the data included the percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.).


The findings were as followed: 1) The expected needs of characteristics for students of the Bachelor of Technology Program in Accounting were at the high level in all aspects. of characteristics. From the prioritization, it was found that the problem-solving analysis, improvement, and work development were the most necessary. PNImodified was equal to 0.31. 2) Regarding the result of the development of the model designed, it revealed that it consisted of 5 steps as followed: 1) the analysis: 1.1) course analysis, 1.2) making the teaching project, and 1.3) the competency analysis; 2) the design: 2.1) the design for theoretical subjects, and, 2.2) the designed for practical subjects; 3) the development: 3.1) theoretical learning and teaching plan, and, 3.2) practical learning and teaching plan; 4) the implementation:
4.1) the implementation in colleges, and, 4.2) the implementation in workplaces; and; 5) the assessment and follow-up. Concerning the result of the suitability assessment of the model by the experts, it showed that it was at the highest level (gif.latex?\fn_cm&space;\bar{x} = 4.54).
