Project Management Strategy for Basic Education Schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to study project management strategy for basic education school under the Secondary Educational Service Area. The research procedure was divided into 4 phases which are phase 1: Was to study current conditions on project management strategy for basic education schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area. The participants for this phase consisted of 296 school administrators and teachers responsible to projects from schools under Supervisory District 14, obtained by simple random sampling, and 3 schools granted permission to be project management school model. Phase 2: the development of project management strategy for basic educational school under the Secondary Educational Service Area. Participants in this phase included 11 experts, selected by purposive sampling. Phase 3: The project management strategy for basic educational school under the Secondary Education Service Area trial. Participants in this phase were school administrators and teachers responsible to projects from Paisarn Pithayakhom School, obtained by purposive sampling. Phase 4: An evaluation of project management strategy for basic educational school under the Secondary Education Service Area. Participants in this phase consisted of 23 experts with knowledge and experience about strategy. Purposive sampling was applied for the sample group. The instrument used in the study were questionnaires and strategy evaluation forms. The percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used for statistical analysis. Content analysis was applied for qualitative data analysis.


The results of the study revealed that project management strategy for basic education school under the Secondary Educational Service Area including vision, mission, and goal. The 4 strategies consist of The 4 strategies includes strategy 1 : brainstorming including planning participation, the utilization of project evaluation results, and project supervision and monitoring, strategy 2 : resource mobilization consisting of efficient budget allocation, worthwhile budget contribution, and results supervision and monitoring, strategy 3 : cooperation network support comprising external and internal cooperation, cooperatively setting goal and being satisfied with the success; and strategy 4: continuous evaluation including project evaluation and project operational reports.
