Development of School Curriculum Administration Model to Promote Students’ Excellence in Private School

Abstract

This research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the desirable guideline of the development of school curriculum administration model to promote students’ excellence in private school; 2) to create and assess the propriety of the development of school curriculum administration model to promote students’ excellence in private school; and 3) to assess the feasibility of the development of school curriculum administration model to promote students’ excellence in private school. The study was done through considerable review of literatures, documents, and related researches. Information provided by interviewing school leaders, teachers and concerned parties of 5 best practices schools, 5 education experts, and 50 school leaders in Khonkaen Province by using the purposive sampling method.  This research is a research and development using both quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods.  The tool is the interview form of the development of model for curriculum administration to promote student excellence in private schools, record of group discussions, and assessment form on feasibility of development of model for school curriculum administration to promote students’ excellence in private schools using statistical data analysis, average percentage, and standard deviation.


The results of the research are as followed: 1. The desirable guideline of the development of school curriculum administration model to promote students’ excellence in private school consisted of 3 components: 1) administrative inputs, consisting of school leader, teacher, curriculum design, proper school administration, student, parents, community and concerned parties, and provision of learning resources in school; 2) The process of curriculum administration, consisting of studying the school context and setting objectives, appointment of the curriculum development committee, curriculum development planning, practice of the curriculum, supervision and monitoring of curriculum practicing, and curriculum assessment; 3) The excellence characteristics of private school student consisting of 3 know-hows: to think, to do, and to live. 2. By creating the model from the data obtained from phrase 1 and examining the propriety of the model, it is found that the model with an element of administrative inputs, the curriculum administration process and the characteristics of private school students is appropriate; 3. By assessing the feasibility of the development of school curriculum administrative model to promote students’ excellence in private school, it is found that the feasibility of the model is at the highest level (gif.latex?\bar{X} = 4.80 S.D.= 0.43).
