Needs Assessment to Strengthen Creative Transformational Leadership of School Administrators under the Jurisdiction of Local Government Organization

Abstract

This research was aimed 1) to investigate elements and indicators of creative transformational leadership of school administrators and 2) to study the priority needs for enhancing the creative transformational leadership of school administrators. The appropriateness of the elements and indicators was approved by 9 experts. The samples for data collection included 918 school directors, deputy directors, and teachers. These samples were drawn through Multi-stage Sampling. The instruments were a focus group discussion form, an evaluation form, and a rating-scale questionnaire. The data was analyzed through mean, percentage, standard deviation, and Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI Modified).


        The findings revealed that: 1.The creative transformational leadership of the school administrators under the jurisdiction of the local government organization consisted of 6 elements and 35 indicators. The elements included vision, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, flexibility and adaptability, and teamwork.  2. The priority needs for enhancing the creative transformational leadership of the school administrators could be ranged in a descending order as vision, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, teamwork, and flexibility and adaptability. The importance of this research was that organizations in relation to administrator development could implement the findings into a program to develop creative transformational leadership of school administrators.
