Development of Activities Curriculum for Early Childhood Development

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to create a model of activity curriculum development to develop the early childhood learners; 2) to assess the activity curriculum to develop the early childhood learners; and 3) to affirm a model of activity curriculum development to develop the early childhood learners as a multicomponent that is related with propriety, feasibility, utility, and accuracy according to the theory. The study is a research for development. The areas used for the study were the basic education institutes in the lower northern region. The sample group which was chosen based on the purposive sampling included the 2 education institutes in Phitsanulok province: Bannongkrabak School and Watkrabpuang School, and the other 2 in Phetchabun province: Tadmokwittaya School and Ban Dong School. From the study, the following results are found: 1) After a model of activity curriculum development to develop the early childhood learners has been integrated and applied with other education institutes that offer the early childhood level, before the development is found to be overall at a high level with a mean of 3.77 with a standard deviation (S.D.) at 0.62. While after the development is also found to be at a high level with a mean of 4.42 with a standard deviation (S.D.) at 0.59, which is 0.65 higher than before the development. There are 8 aspects of components for curriculum management and 4 aspects on the application of the curriculum. 2) The assessment of the activity curriculum to develop the early childhood learners found overall to be at a high level with a mean of 4.33, with a standard deviation (S.D.) at 0.53. 3) The affirmation of a model of activity curriculum development to develop the early childhood learners based on the experts, it is found that the created curriculum is a multicomponent that is related with propriety, feasibility, utility, and accuracy according to the theory at a 100 %
