The Development of Competency–Based Learning Management by Applying the King Rama IX's Philosophy Based on the Local Identity to Enhance Competency of Student Teachers’ Learning Management

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the basic information for developing the learning management model; 2) to create and examine the quality of the learning management model; and 3) to study the results from experimenting the learning management model. The study applied a research and development method. The target group was acquired by way of purposive sampling and consisted of 200 student teachers from the 3rd year of Education Faculty at Phetchabun Rajabhat University during the academic year B.E. 2563. The obtained data were analyzed by mean of the one sample t-test. From the study, the following results are found: 1) The basic information for developing the learning management model found that the curriculum analysis, learner analysis, and the learning management plan all have a high level of propriety; 2) The results from creating and examining the quality of the learning management model found 5 components which are: (1.1) principles, (1.2) objectives, (1.3) learning content, (1.4) learning activities, and (1.5) evaluation and assessment of learning outcomes. From the study, it is also found that there are 4 steps for organizing learning activities which are: 1st step is the explosion from within, 2nd step is participation, 3rd step is holistic approach, and 4th the reflection of body of knowledge; and 3) The results from experimenting the learning management model found as follows: (3.1) after studying according to a model, student teachers have a higher level of knowledge and understanding in learning management than before, with statistical significance at the .01 level, (3.2) student teachers have an 80 percent higher competency to design the learning management after studying according to a model, with statistical significance at the .01 level, and (3.3) student teachers have an 80 percent higher competency to write the learning management plan after studying according to a model, with statistical significance at the .01 level.
