A Meta-Analysis Study on Causal Factors Affecting Academic Adjustment of Undergraduate Students in Thailand

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the characteristics of the causal factors affecting the academic adjustment; and 2) to synthesize the body of knowledge on academic adjustment of undergraduate students in Thailand. There were 50 researches used for synthesis. The research instrument employed a record for research data. The obtained data were analyzed by way of content analysis and meta-analysis. From the study, the following results are found: From studying the characteristics of the causal factors influencing the academic adjustment of undergraduate students in Thailand, it is found that most of them aim at studying the correlation. There was the use of the multi-stage random sampling while a questionnaire was used as the research instrument, which was tested for reliability. The data was analyzed by way of descriptive statistics. From analyzing the level of influence, it is found that the causal factors influence the academic adjustment of undergraduate students with a statistical significance of 0.01. The most influencing factor is program, such as life skills program. Followed by internal factors of a person, such as hope, learning habits, self-esteem, determination and goal in life, etc. While the external factors of a person refer to relationship with others, social support, environment within the university, and participation in activities of students.
