Abstract

The aims of this research were to 1) construct and evaluate the efficiency of research-based learning (RBL) lesson plans on the course, “Curriculum Development,” 2) compare the students’ learning achievement before and after implementing RBL, and 3) evaluate the students’ satisfaction towards RBL. The population comprised 55 general science and mathematics majors in the Bachelor of Education Program during the 2nd semester of the academic year 2019.  The research instruments consisted of 10 RBL lesson plans, an evaluation form on students’ learning achievement, evaluation criteria and a questionnaire of students’ satisfaction RBL lesson plans. This study implemented a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were analyzed in terms of percentage, mean, standard deviation.  The research hypotheses were tested using dependent t-test.

The results revealed that: 1) the efficiency of the RBL instruction was at 80.56/80.83 in accordance with the standard criteria set. 2) The students’ learning achievement after implementing RBL was higher than that before implementing it (p<.05), and 3) The students were satisfied with the RBL instruction at the highest level ( gif.latex?\bar{x}= 4.65)
