Guidelines for the Development of the National Award-Winning Marching Band

Abstract
This research aims to 1) Study the problem of performing the marching band that has received national awards. 2) To propose the development of a national award-winning marching band analysis of the performance exercises of the national award-winning marching band data collected by interviewing a marching band 2006-2016 expert 6 National Award-winning marching band practitioners. Using the method of analyzing data using qualitative research. By using the information obtained to analyze and summarize the content synthesis and presenting in a descriptive way. The research results were found that problems in the process of performing the national award-winning marching band consist of 3 issues. 1) The students lack the basics of musical instrument performance. 2) Playing music according to the sound characteristic control mark (Articulation) is not correct. 3) The marching band lacks a systematic action. Guidelines for the development of marching bands consist of 1) Breathing Exercises and wind applying to musical instruments, 2) Instrument performance according to the sound characteristic control mark. (Articulation) 3) A project to develop a marching band for the contest
