The writing style of Isan ancient law

Abstract

This article  aims to study  the form and content of Isan ancient law by uses a qualitative research methodology with a study of the 18 Isan ancient law, including 1) Lakkhammueang Roi-et1 2) Lakkhammueang Roi-et 2 3) Lakkhammueang Roi–et 3 4) Anachaklakkhamsuwannaphum 5) LakkhammueangPhukhiaow 6) LakkhammueangKalasin 7) AnachaklakchaiPhrachetthathirat 8) LakkhammueangSakonnakhon 9)Lakkham 10) Anachakthammachaklakchai 11) AnachakThammasat RatchasatSoisaykham 12) Khampheephrathamasatmeaungkhonkean 13)Soisaykham 14) Khampheephosarat 15) Thammasat-Ratchasat 16) Phrathammanoon 17) Phrathammasat and 18) Phraaiyakan


This article found that 3 parts of the writing pattern involved in: an introduction, body details and the final part legislation. The beginning part of the writing was included 4 characteristics: The origin of the law, a speech of mercy, a further launching and a punishment administration, whereas the body part showed the details of dynasty law, monk law and civil law. Additionally, the end of legislation involved in 6 characteristics: the recorder, the number of fanleaf-palms which was used to write the law in, the instruction of the law, the place to write the law, the date which the laws were written and the details of the law itself.
