Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the current conditions and needs of academic administration of the Faculty of Nursing, Rajabhat University; 2) to create a model of academic administration; and 3) to assess a model of academic administration. The study applied a mixed-method research. A sample group for the study consisted of the program committee, the networks of the Faculty of Nursing of Rajabhat University of 8 campuses, in a total of 152 persons. The size of a sample group was chosen by Krejcie & Morgan table. The research instruments for collecting data were questionnaire, focus group discussion form, and assessment form. The data were analyzed by statistics such as mean, standard deviation (S.D.) as well as content analysis.


          From the study, the following results are found: 1) The current conditions of academic administration of the Faculty of Nursing, Rajabhat University has the operation overall at a moderate level. As for the needs of academic administration of the Faculty of Nursing, Rajabhat University, it is found that there should be a development in the following aspects from high to low: processes, outputs, and input factors, respectively. 2) A Model of academic administration of the Faculty of Nursing consists of 3 aspects: 2.1) The aspect of input factors including 1) the leadership of faculty administrators, 2) the competencies of lecturers, 3) the characteristics of students, 4) the educational resources and practice site, and 5) the administration of organization; 2.2) The aspect of processes including 1) program administration, 2) the teaching and learning management, 3) assessment and evaluation under the driven mechanism of PDCA approach and teamwork; and 2.3) The aspect of outputs including 1) the characteristics of learners under the framework of qualification standard, 2) the quality of graduates, and 3) the satisfaction in academic administration. 3) The assessment of a model found to have appropriate components of academic administration at a high level ( = 4.51, S.D = 0.57). While the feasibility, propriety, and utility of a model are found to be at a high level ( = 4.32, S.D = 0.57).
