A Model of Learning Process Enhancing Based on the WAT PRACHA RAT, to Create the Happiness for Strength Community in the Dong Fa Huan Botanical Garden Area, Ubon Ratchathani Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the context of community which influences creation of learning process under the Initiative of WAT, PRACHA, RAT Integration for Happiness to strengthen the communities in Dong Fa Huan Botanical Garden, Ubon Ratchathani Province. 2) to study problems and conditional factors of the community that influence creation of learning process under the Initiative of WAT, PRACHA, RAT Integration for Happiness in order to strengthen the communities in Dong Fa Huan Botanical Garden, Ubon Ratchathani Province; and 3) to create the model for creation of learning process under the Initiative of WAT, PRACHA, RAT Integration for Happiness in order to strengthen the communities in Dong Fa Huan Botanical Garden, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The qualitative research was based on an in-depth interview with 12 key informants and a focus group discussion joined by 15 people. It also applied a specific sampling method, content analysis and descriptive method.


The results of research were found that 1) Geographical features of Ban Nong Bua Community and Ban Nong Manao Community were mostly low plains and local people mainly worked in agriculture. The communities’ beliefs, traditions and cultures were based on the Heat-Khong Isan style. Community development was divided into 3 eras including pioneer, water and electricity access and semi-urban community; 2) The communities’ problems included transportation among villages, shortage of water supply, household debt, lack of supplementary occupations and changing community value. Conditional factors included strong leaders, community’s mutual goals, support from government agencies and cultures and traditions that are the communities’ foundation. However, the communities should adjust themselves to keep up with external factors; and 3) Three key organizations in the communities were the driving force in creating learning process by taking into consideration problems and conditional factors concerning the communities’ participation to integrate the roles and missions of the WAT, PRACHA and RAT to enhance the learning process.
