A Model of Introducing the King’s Philosophy to the Administration of Secondary Schools to Improve the Learners’ Quality of Life

Abstract

The research article aimed at studying the conditions of introducing the king’s philosophy to the administration of secondary schools, as well as creating, testing, and assessing a model of introducing the king’s philosophy to the administration of secondary schools to improve the learners’ quality of life. The study applied mixed-method research by studying the conditions of the sample group which consisted of 400 teachers and educational personnel of the secondary schools in the 13th inspection region. The in-depth interview was conducted with 9 experts to find the components. The focus group discussion was conducted with 12 experts in order to examine a model and its manual. A model was tested with 22 teachers and personnel of Yasothon Pittayakom School. A model was assessed by the focus group with 22 persons who tried out a model. From the study, the following results are found: 1) The current situation of introducing the king’s philosophy to the administration of secondary schools is found to be overall at a high level; 2) A model of introducing the king’s philosophy to the administration of secondary schools to improve the learners’ quality of life consists of 5 components which are (1) objectives, (2) principles and basic theories of a model, (3) the implementation of a model, (4) the guidelines for model assessment, and (5) the conditions for applying a model. The propriety and feasibility of a model are found to be overall at a high level; 3) From experimenting a model, it is found that after practicing according to a model, the learners and stakeholders overall have a high level of practice; and 4) The results from model assessment by the stakeholders are found to be overall at a high level whether in propriety, feasibility, or utility.
