The process of raising consciousness in resource management of people residing in Bungboraped area Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to analyze the needs for making use of the resources; 2) to explore the guidelines for developing awareness in resource management of the people and the study applied a qualitative research method. The in-depth interviews were conducted with 140 key informants comprising representatives of people, community leaders, career groups and agencies. While the focus group discussions were conducted with 15 persons. The research instrument employed an interview form. The data were analyzed by way of content analysis and presented by descriptive method. From the study, the following results are found: 1) People have the needs to make use of Bueng Boraphet in terms of residence, agriculture, fishery, animal husbandry, the benefits of lotus flower, tourism, including food and souvenir shops; 2) The process of awareness raising on resource management consists of 6 steps which are building understanding with people, encouraging and building motivation, convincing for acceptance, persuading for implementation, reminding for continuity, admiring and propagating; 3) The process of awareness raising on resource management should be implemented in order to achieve the set goals.
