The Early Childhood Educational Administrative Model For the Excellence of Provincial Kindergarten Schools

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the current conditions of the early childhood educational administration; 2) to create the early childhood educational administrative model aiming for the excellence; 3) to test the early childhood educational administrative model aiming for the excellence of provincial kindergarten schools; and 4) to assess the early childhood educational administrative model aiming for the excellence of provincial kindergarten schools. A sample for studying the current condition consisted of directors, vice-directors, and head of kindergarten department, in a total of 75 persons. The target group for studying the prototype schools consisted of directors, vice-directors, and head of kindergarten department from all three schools, in a total of 9 persons by means of in-depth interview. The target group for developing a model consisted of 15 experts to assess the propriety and feasibility of a model and model manual by means of expert-based seminars. The target group for testing was conducted with 1 school based on a model manual. The target group for assessing a model consisted of 21 experts and relevant persons by means of a group meeting. The research found the results for the early childhood educational administrative model for the excellence of provincial kindergarten schools as follows: 1) the administrators were the key driver leading the schools to success; 2) the important principles for administrating early childhood education were (1) participation, (2) teamwork, and (3) moving towards mutual success goals; 3) the application of a model in the development of early childhood education continuously and seriously would result in the development of schools to have quality, standards and able to achieve the excellence effectively; and 4) the assessment result of the early childhood educational administrative model for the excellence of provincial kindergarten schools overall was at a high level. The result also revealed that when considering all 5 aspects (P2HET), a model consisted of propriety, feasibility, and utility that could develop the early childhood education to excellence.
