Human Resource Management Practices Affecting the Competencies in Work of the Aviation Support Personnel in the Thailand 4.0 Era

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) To study the level of work competency in Thailand 4.0 era the human resource management of aviation support personnel. 2) To study the influences of the human resource management of aviation support personnel that affects the work competency in Thailand 4.0 era. Mixed methods research was designed. For the qualitative research was using the sampling group consisted of 360 full-time employees working in the ground service department of Thai Airways International Public Co.,Ltd. The sample size was determined using a criterion of 20 times the observed variable using a multi-step sampling method. Data were collected by a questionnaire and analyzed with a structural equation model. The qualitative research, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 key informants, selected individually and analyze through content analysis.


          The Result indicated that 1) For the human resource management of aviation support personnel in Thailand 4.0 era; the human resource planning aspect is at the highest level, other than that the recruitment and selection, training and development and work assessment aspects are at high level.  While the management of compensation and benefits is at moderate level. 2) Work performance evaluation has the most influence on the permanent employees who work in the ground service department of Thai Airways International Public Co.,Ltd., and followed by human resource planning. Training and Development Compensation and Benefits Management and recruiting and selection respectively.
