The Study of a Learning Management Model to Promote Critical Thinking of Preschool Children

Abstract

The purpose of this research article was to study a learning management model to promote critical thinking of preschool children. This was qualitative research through document study, research, and using the semi-structured interview form for interviewing the experts Content Analysis Method. A sample consisted of 5 administrators and teachers in early childhood education, 4 school administrators, and 6 kindergarten teachers, in a total of 15 persons.


From the study, it that there were 7 components of a learning management model to promote critical thinking of preschool children as follows: 1) Concepts, philosophy, theories, and beliefs which were the fundamental or core of learning management model; 2) Objectives, goals, or expectations that students would be able to achieve they graduated; 3) Learning management process, the practice of thinking process skills, management skills, confrontation with the situation, and application of knowledge to prevent and solve problems; 4) Learning activities for learners to learn from real experiences, the practice for implementation and thinking skills, the practice of analytical skills, practice specifying basic agreements, the practice of summarizing and writing a reference, the practice of synthesizing skills, and practice of evaluation skills; 5) The roles of students and teachers by which the teachers could arrange the environment and atmosphere of learning as well as facilitating the students by promoting the learning and supporting students to become knowledgeable; 6) Learning media, learning materials, and learning tools as the assistance to transfer knowledge from learning resources to students; and 7) The evaluation of learning management model by considering the ability of students after graduation, including their skills and behaviors after the learning management
