Development of Potential of the Manufacturing Contractor to the Success of The Automotive Parts Business in Samut Prakarn Province

Abstract
The research article aimed at studying the potential of manufacturing subcontractors affecting the success of automotive parts manufacturing businesses in Samut Prakan province and proposing the guidelines for developing the potential of manufacturing subcontractors. A sample group consisted of 390 business operators in Samut Prakan province as well as the experts on a career in automotive parts. The research instrument employed questionnaires. The statistics used were mean, percentage, and standard deviation (S.D.). The results of the research are found as follows: the business skills of manufacturing subcontractors are at a high level; the skill on working together is at the highest level; the development process in business operation is at a high level; the automotive parts are at a high level; the potential of manufacturing subcontractors is at a high level; and planning has the highest level. Manufacturing subcontractors with different ages and work experiences have a level of expertise in business skills, a business process in business operation, and potential that are different. From the multiple linear regression of the potential of manufacturing subcontractors, it is found that automotive parts, business resource management, technology, relationship among teams, communication, and the human capital development affect the potential of manufacturing subcontractors equal to .519. The study also found that there are 6 variations which are automotive parts business forecasting, business resource management, technology, the relationship among teams, communication, and human capital development, all of which in term of the raw score (b) is .63 to .089 while the standard score (β) is .21 to .042. In addition, communication affects the potential of manufacturing subcontractors with a statistical significance at .01 level. The result of the focus group discussion of those with a career in automotive parts found that the potential development of manufacturing subcontractors is related in all aspects.
