The Process of Youth Development for Creating Peaceful Media in Online Society

Abstract
The research article applied an action research method with the objective to propose the process of youth development for creating peaceful media in online society. The study was conducted by means of in-depth interviews with 12 key informants, focus group discussion with 7 experts, and the area survey for implementing the role model youth development project with 18 secondary school students. The research conclusion was conducted by the inductive method. The results of the research found that the process of youth development for creating peaceful media in online society which is called “MAP=P&R for Gen Peace” has the following components: “M – Mindset for Peace” refers to the awakening process by providing positive knowledge in online communication that will bring about happiness and peace, receiving the information in the online society with mindfulness, and creating peaceful media in the online society like a good friend for the society; “A – Attitude to Live Together” refers to the awakening process in learning and having the attitude that accepts the difference for coexisting peacefully in the online society that is diverse and composed of many dimensions; “P – Practical Media for Peace” refers to the process of awakening power by providing knowledge and creating skills for creating peaceful media in various forms whether image or animation; “P – Post” refers to the training in choosing words to post on online society mindfully and peacefully; “R – Reflection for Peace” refers to having a good friend to reflect the creative use of social media with youth, to remind when making mistakes, and to praise when communicating well in order for youth to create a peaceful media that is good for the society called “Gen Peace”
