A Judicial Public Mediation Model for People by Buddhist Peaceful Means : Case Study of Sawai Sub-District, Prang Ku District, Sri Sa Ket Province

Abstract

This article of research aims to present a model of public mediation by Buddhist peaceful mean for case study of Sawai Sub-district Prang Ku district, Sri Sa Ket province. The model of qualitative research by the Key Informants are selected amount of 35 community leaders in Sa Wai Sub-District which includes 1) Community leaders comprising one Sub-district Headman, 9 Village Headmen, 13 Assistant Village Headmen, 2 communities’ leaders 2) 4 government officials. 3) 7 specialist on conflict resolution The method applied in this research is the utilization of in-depth interviews developed and verified by specialists. Data collected from a field is analyzed into the research and elaborated in a form of descriptive writing.


The result of research was found that a judicial public mediation model by Buddhist by peaceful means in Sawai Sub-district Prang Ku district, Sri Sa Ket province can be used as a role model of Public mediation by Buddhist peaceful means which consists of the  following key factors (1) Mediation principles consists of voluntarity of concerned parties, fexibility of each others, relationship restoration among parties, and case termination with satisfaction (2) Steps of public mediation by Buddhist peaceful mean consists of analyzing of problem following the Four Noble Truths, opening a dialogue following the Four Principles of Virtuous Existence, organizing a panel in a friendly manner, creating an alternative without bias, and ending with harmony.
