Sustainable Community Enterprise Development by Buddhist Peaceful Means: A case study of Sawai community, Prang Ku District, Sisaket

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) the context, problems, guidelines for the development of community enterprises 2) the development of community enterprises in accordance with modern science and the principles of Buddhist peaceful means, and 3) to propose a model for the development of sustainable community enterprises in accordance with the Buddhist peaceful methods, a case study of Sawai community, Prang Ku, Sisaket. This research applied the Qualitative Research with the in-depth interview with 10 persons and focus group discussion, the community enterprise scholars, Director, Founding Director of community enterprise and scholars from the university. Results of the Research 1) Communities have economic and social problems that result in unsustainable incomes. It is a problem in the basic economic development. To build a community economy system, develop local products to generate income and become self-sufficient. According to the policy of supporting enterprises in the fourth edition of the SME Development Plan to raise the standard of living and living 2) The approach to bringing technology and digital innovation to promote the potential of community enterprises to balance the economy by adjusting the context of doing business in the digital age. Therefore, Buddhist peaceful means principles must be used to reduce violence both directly and indirectly in the community resulting in the development of a peaceful society. 3) The model of Buddhist peaceful means integrated with the principle of 7 Sappurisdharma as a SOARNE model, which is S = Strengths, the community identity for sugar palm as raw material for production. O = Opportunities community knowledge A = Aspiration growth of community enterprise R = Results from sugar palm products N = Needs for economic development E = Empathy of members. This will result in the community enterprise to grow sustainably and become self-reliant as well as create peace in the community.
