The Development of Public Consciousness for Community Ancient Conservation in BuriRam Province

Abstract

The objectives of research were 1) to study the community ancient in BuriRam Province 2) to study the community public consciousness for conservation of community ancient and 3) to develop the public conscious for conservation of community ancient in BuriRam Province. This research was qualitative method with operative research by doing activities along with people in community as well as gathering data by interview key informants total 49 person to be community leaders, caretakers, local people, sages, youth and monks in KhuMueang and Mueang BuriRam district, BuriRam Province.


The results of research were found that 1) the ancient Sema which had valued to be an ancient in Dvaravati. And then Khmer was in power that to be Khmer Art like Pai-ra-ka-Meng which had respected Narayana and Sema in Ayutthaya Province. For Sema in BuriRam Province has had the belief and the reason for building similar and used the symbol for specifying boundary of Buddhist temples that were explored 7 places. They were ancients community of BuriRam Province which were found that the 12 ancients monument but selecting to study especially at KhuMueang 2) the people in community have been awareness to community, there were knowledge and understanding about the conservation of community ancients of sample groups and informants found that everyone should have awareness and responsibility to public, knowledge, understanding ancients monument for preservation community ancients that could refer prosperity of community in the past. Everyone should help to plant for making environment better. 3) to do activities about developing public consciousness to be motivation power of life and motivation for enhancing other knowledge for being a good host as well as identify to see the significant of archaeology including it was to create the volunteer group for preservation ancient monument of communities to be sustainable continuously.
