Social Capital of Police Cadet Instructors in Royal Police Cadet Academy

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) investigate factors influencing the social capital of the instructors, 2) to compare social capital of police cadet Instructors which may be classified by personal background factors, 3) to analyze the obtained data for the development of the social capital of the instructors in Royal Police Cadet Academy. This study is a quantitative research collecting data by using the questionnaire. The samples used in the study were 106 police cadet teachers using the formula of Taro Yamane. The research results based on objectives were found as follows; 1) The factors that influence the social capital of the instructors are divided in four aspects: 1) social network 2) trust 3) organizational culture and 4) efficiency and effectiveness in work. The four aspects were found in high level. 2) The four aspects of the social capital of instructors were not differentiated by the personal backgrounds. When considering the details, it was found that personal background factors in all aspects have the most influence on the aspect of trust. If the personal background factors are different, they may have more impact on the trust aspect than other aspects. Moreover, the research found that instructors who are older than 50 years have a bachelor's degree from Royal Police Cadet Academy, working experience between 5-10 years, with the rank of colonel, positing as a teacher rank 2 in Physical Education group and teaching in Martial Art. They have more social capital than other groups of instructors. 3) The Social capital in all four aspects were connected. Social networking is a tool to facilitate co-operation on the basis of trust or mutual trust. Coordination and operate according to corporate culture also have been found that the police instructors have the highest trust level in social capital. It is a motivation for love of the organization and members to follow their beliefs, corporate values, which impact on productivities, and organizational developments.
