The Development of the Model of Using Science Equipment of Teachers in Secondary Schools

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the development of     a model for using science equipment of teachers in secondary schools. The study was used with the sampling groups of 242 science teachers teaching in secondary schools in the Ubon Ratchathani province. The target group for this study was 25 heads of learning stands, science departments. In this work, the designed model was considered by 8 experts in science equipment and was evaluated by the other 17 professionals. Tools for collecting data were questionnaires, in-depth interviews, focus groups and the model evaluation. The collected data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The research findings was that the developed model for using science equipment of teachers in secondary schools in the Ubon Ratchathani province comprised 3 elements including learning, management and policy. The model was reported in terms  of principle, objective, operation and success condition as following. 1) Principle: this model uses the principles of participation of teachers teaching science in secondary schools in Ubon Ratchathani province and local higher education institutions. 2) Objective: the model was intended to develop the use of science equipment of teachers in secondary schools in the Ubon Ratchathani province. 3) Operation: the model will be used to develop learning, management and policy. 4)Success condition:this developed model will be successful by doing many conditions, for example, teachers must be aware of the importance of practice, teachers must have expertise in using science equipment, the school must have systematic management of laboratory equipment, the school must establish a budget to provide sufficient science equipment, and relevant agencies must establish cooperation between science teachers in secondary schools with local government higher education institutions. From the evaluation results of the model created by the experts, the model is appropriate at a high level and is possible at a high level.
