A Process of Leadership development for Peace According to Buddhist Integration

Abstract

This dissertation entitled ‘A Process of Leadership development for Peace According to Buddhist Integration’ has objective for develop and propose the process to develop the integrated Buddhist leadership for peace. This research employed the qualitative method done by studying related research works, interview of 22 scholars and focus groups discussion of 7 people and then the collected data were analyzed to answer the given research questions.


In the research, it was found that respect to the process to develop the integrated Buddhist leadership for peace, four dimensions are required: 1) in physical one, the personality should be developed through precepts because it by nature reflects upon the internal value, 2 in behavioral one, the development of behavior leads to the positive communication whereby the conflict solution can be actualized through seven good virtues for being a good person in harmonizing various groups of people where they can work together happily, 3) in mental one, the development of mind will give rise to the healthiness of mind in terms of its potentiality and quality and thereby bringing public mind to them wherein they can provide their hands to support one another through four foundations of mindfulness,  and 4) in intellectual one, to get this dimension developed one should be able to analyze and understand various situations as they are through three-fold training. In conclusion, the leadership for peace must satisfy the following processes: 1) first level needs self-administration whereby the body, speech and mind are mindful according to threefold training, 2) the second level requires the administration on the relationship with others, 1) administration of worldly things, 2) taking time and place into account before delivering any words according to seven good virtues for being a good person, and 3) living life peacefully and it needs two conditions: 1) negotiation is life, and 2) conciliation is life respectively.
