The Buddhist Selective Factors Influencing toward the Elderly’s Psychological Well-Being

Abstract
The objectives of this research are as follows. 1) to study selective Buddhist factors in the elderly 2) to study effect of selective Buddhist factors on psychological well-being in the elderly 3) to propose method of promoting psychological well-being in the elderly. As mixed method research, focus group discussion was applied for collecting data from the elderly of the elderly assembly and questionnaire was used to collect data from 347 elderlies live in Bangkok and surrounded province. The results show that:- 1. Selective Buddhist factors and psychological well-being of the elderly is in high level. 2. the elderly with different of age, educational level, occupation, living province, frequency of donation, studying Dhamma, chanting, and live along with four path of achievement and four sublime states, has different level of psychological wellbeing at significant level .05 in addition, Selective Buddhist factors can predict level of psychological well-being with 75% at significant level .05. 3. Early self- preparation, participating social activities, and religious practices is key factor of promoting psychological well-being in the elderly.
