A Model for Developing Competency of the Morality Teaching Monks in School

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study situations and problems in competency development of the morality teaching monks in schools, to develop a model for competency development of the morality teaching monks in schools and to propose a model for competency development of the morality teaching monks in schools. The mixed research methods were used in the study. The data were collected from documents, in-depth interview with 16 key informants through semi-structured interview form, focus group discussions with 9 key-informants and 10 experts through patterned questions. The results of the study found that.
- The status of competency of the morality teaching monks in schools to be developed in 6 aspects; duty performance, curriculum, teaching and learning management, teaching media, and evaluation.
- A model for competency development of the morality teaching monks in schools consists of 3 components and Kalyanamitta Dhamma is the best suitable in applying in the work of monks teaching morality in schools in 6 aspects and in competency in 4 groups; general competency, individual competency, knowledge management competency, and team-work competency. In total, there are 12 competencies divided into group of 4 in 3 sub-groups.
3. S.NART Model is proposed to be used as a model for competency development of the morality teaching monks in schools since it is developed and evaluated with most possibility.
