An Analysis of Transportation Model in Milk Run System by Apply the Warehouse Service: A Case Study of the Manufacturer of Agricultural

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to : 1) to make  comparison for transportation costs between applying the warehouse service and none applying the warehouse service for the Milk Run System:. 2) To analysis the expectations and satisfaction on the services; 3) to find out the improvement of transportation by applying the warehouse service in to the Milk Run System. The study was a survey research. The sample of the study consists two parts of customers who are using the transportation with applying the warehouse service and none applying the warehouse system in Milk Run system 30 persons. The instruments used were a researcher designed rating scale questionnaire and the theory of Five Forces Model. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics comprising Percentage, Means, and Standard Deviation by using the Microsoft Excel.

            The results of the study found that 1) The analysis for transportation cost both of pattern showed that the transportation costs for applying the warehouse service into Milk Run system found that the total truck costs was decrease about 10 percentage.; 2) the result of questionnaire showed that the level of the expectation and satisfaction of customers toward the overall service was low level in all aspects at -0.07. For the result of satisfaction the result revealed that the level of the satisfaction of customer toward the service overall service applying the warehouse service into Milk Run system the overall service was high level in all aspects at 3.97 by factors of the implementation, for warehouse service management costs was low level at 2.33; 3) the analysis of business risk by using the Five Forces Model Theory the results revealed that our business may getting a risk from all factors especially if the competitors using strategy price we cannot negotiate because we are a small business. Therefore as researcher opinion the business should to concentrate for creating the uniqueness of business by using a strategy of the leader of logistics service provide by applying warehouse service into Milk Run System.
