The Buddhist Way of the New Media Literacy For the Youth in Bangkok

Abstract

This Article was to study how the new media consumption of Thai youth in Bangkok was. To study the concept, theories of media literacy, and the application of the Yonisomanasikan method (Critical thinking Reflection) as the Buddhist way of knowing new media for the youth in Bangkok, and to give the recommendations for the youth in Bangkok as the Buddhist way of new media literacy. The research methology of the mixed method research is both quantitative and qualitative analyses.


The research results were found that: The results of the test in the fourfold thinking method were found that 1) Right Reasoning is right thinking by happened reason and cause connected to the following effect to enlighten the true. 2) Right Analyzing is classification thinking of components to understand the good and bad. 3) Systematic thinking by advantage disadvantage and resolve is a threefold process of accomplishment in reality of good bad and solution. 4) Good thinking is the positive thinking for good action. The process of the Buddhist new media literacy must approach with integration completely such as people family social and the environment. That is personally related having good friends that have motivation for learning, positive thinking, having the fourfold Critical Reflection thinking. By having good environments in the society, which encourages youth to develop Consciousness, Discipline, Right View, an intelligence and Moral thinking.
