การนำซอฟต์แวร์โอเพนซอร์สมาใช้ในงานห้องสมุดดิจิทัล: ศึกษาเปรียบเทียบระหว่างโปรแกรมดีสเปซ และ กรีนสโตน (Using Open Source Software for Digital Library: A Comparative Study between Dspace and Greenstone)

    ซอฟต์แวร์โอเพนซอร์สเป็นซอฟต์แวร์ที่อนุญาตให้ผู้ใช้สามารถนำไปใช้งานศึกษา แก้ไข และเผยแพร่ได้อย่างเสรี จึงเป็นข้อดีที่ช่วยให้ผู้ใช้ประหยัดค่าใช้จ่ายและสามารถพัฒนาได้ตรงความต้องการ ซอฟต์แวร์โอเพนซอร์สสำหรับใช้งานห้องสมุดดิจิทัลที่เป็นที่นิยมใช้อย่างแพร่หลาย ได้แก่ โปรแกรมดีสเปซและโปรแกรมกรีนสโตน ซึ่งทั้งสองโปรแกรมมีจุดเด่นและจุดด้อยแตกต่างกัน บทความนี้นำเสนอการเปรียบเทียบคุณลักษณะของโปรแกรมดีสเปซและโปรแกรมกรีนสโตนสำหรับใช้งานห้องสมุดดิจิทัล ซึ่งพบว่าโปรแกรมดีสเปซมีความเหมาะสมในการใช้ในงานห้องสมุดดิจิทัลมากกว่าโปรแกรมกรีนสโตน เพราะสามารถรองรับไฟล์ดิจิทัลได้หลากหลายกว่า และมีฟังก์ชั่นการใช้งานมากกว่า

Abstract     

    Open-source software (OSS) is computer software with a license in which the copyright holder provides the rights to study, change and distribute the software to anyone and for any purposes. Its advantages are lower cost, security, and better quality. Currently, there are various open-source digital library programs; Dspace and Greenstone programs are very popular and widespread. This article is proposed comparative study open-source digital library software between Dspace and Greenstone. We found that DSpace is more suitable for digital library than Greenstone. The advantages of Dspace are storing various fi le types and having more functions.
