การวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบคลังสารสนเทศสถาบัน ของมหาวิทยาลัยไทยและต่างประเทศ

บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบคลังสารสนเทศสถาบันของมหาวิทยาลัยไทยและต่างประเทศ ในประเด็นเกี่ยวกับ หน่วยงานที่รับผิดชอบ โครงสร้างชุมชนวิชาการ ประเภทและรูปแบบเอกสารที่จัดเก็บ บริการ ข้อมูลสถิติกิจกรรมการจัดเก็บ และคำแนะนำสำหรับผู้ใช้ กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัยคือ คลังสารสนเทศสถาบันของมหาวิทยาลัยไทย 5 แห่งที่ลงทะเบียนในเว็บไซต์ OpenDoar และคลังสารสนเทศสถาบันของมหาวิทยาลัยต่างประเทศที่ได้รับการจัดอันดับโลกสูงสุด 5 แห่ง จากเว็บไซต์ Webometric วิธีการวิจัยใช้การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาจากเว็บไซต์ของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) ส่วนใหญ่ห้องสมุดเป็นผู้รับผิดชอบการดำเนินการคลังสารสนเทศสถาบันทั้งมหาวิทยาลัยไทยและต่างประเทศ 2) โครงสร้างชุมชนวิชาการมักจัดกลุ่มตามโครงสร้างของมหาวิทยาลัยที่แบ่งตามคณะวิชา ศูนย์ และสถาบันที่เป็นกลุ่มผู้ผลิตสารสนเทศของมหาวิทยาลัย 3) ผลงานวิจัยและบทความวิชาการเป็นเอกสารที่จัดเก็บมากที่สุด นอกจากนั้นได้แก่ วิทยานิพนธ์ และหนังสือ  4) คลังสารสนเทศสถาบันมีบริการพื้นฐานคือ บริการจัดเก็บและบริการการสืบค้นข้อมูล ส่วนบริการเฉพาะมีความแตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละมหาวิทยาลัย 5) ข้อมูลสถิติกิจกรรมการจัดเก็บ ชี้ให้เห็นถึงปริมาณของเนื้อหา และความต่อเนื่องของกิจกรรมการจัดเก็บที่เกิดขึ้นในคลังสารสนเทศสถาบันของมหาวิทยาลัย และ 6) คำแนะนำสำหรับผู้ใช้ คลังสารสนเทศสถาบันของมหาวิทยาลัยต่างประเทศมีคำแนะนำที่สมบูรณ์ในหลายด้าน เช่น นโยบายของคลังสารสนเทศสถาบัน คู่มือการใช้งาน และ FAQ เป็นต้น

Abstract

The objective of this research was to comparatively analyze the institutional repositories (IR) ofThai and foreign universities regarding the issues of: the responsible units, scholarly community structure,types and format of storing documents, services, statistical data of archiving activities, and recommendationsfor users. The samples of this study were the institutional repositories of 5 Thai universities registering inOpenDoar Website, and the top 5 foreign universities ranked by Webometric. Content analysis of the IRwebs was used as a research methodology.

The research findings: 1) Most of the IR responsible units of Thai and foreign universities were theuniversity’s libraries. 2) The structures of scholarly community on IR webs were categorized as same asthe structure of university’s organizations according to the documents’ production units such as faculties,research centers, and institutes. 3) The documents archived in IR were mainly research reports andacademic articles, and some others were theses and books. 4) Basic services provided by IR were archivingservices and information searching service. Different special services were also found in each university.5) The statistical data of archiving activities indicated the amount of the contents and the continuity ofarchiving activities occurring in IR of the universities. 6) The recommendations for users feature of IR offoreign universities provided information for the users in various aspects such as the policy of IR, user’sguide, and FAQ etc.
