    2026-02-19
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Surindra Rajabhat University

The Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Surindra Rajabhat University recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in academic research and scholarly communication. In the fields of humanities and social sciences, where intellectual intent, critical interpretation, and ethical responsibility are fundamental, the journal establishes the following policy to ensure transparency, integrity, and academic accountability in the use of AI tools.

This policy applies to authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the publication process.

    1. Use of AI by Authors 1.1 Permissible Use

Authors may use AI tools for supportive purposes such as:

    • Language editing and grammar checking

    • Improving clarity and structure

    • Preliminary data organization or synthesis

However, AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. AI systems cannot assume intellectual responsibility for scholarly work. The human author remains solely responsible for the intellectual content of the manuscript.

    1.2 Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical standards of their manuscripts, regardless of whether AI tools were used. Authors must ensure that:

    • The content does not infringe copyright

    • Proper citations are provided

    • Fabricated, biased, or inaccurate information generated by AI is corrected

    • Academic integrity is maintained at all times

    1.3 Disclosure of AI Use

If AI tools are used in ways that materially affect the content of the manuscript (e.g., data analysis, content generation, tables, or figures), authors must clearly disclose this in an appropriate section of the manuscript (e.g., Methodology or Acknowledgements). The disclosure should include:

    • Name of the AI tool

    • Version (if applicable)

    • Nature and extent of its use

Use of AI solely for grammar or language polishing does not require disclosure.

    2. Use of AI by Reviewers 2.1 Confidentiality

Reviewers must not upload manuscripts or any part thereof into publicly accessible AI systems or platforms that cannot guarantee data confidentiality. Manuscripts under review are confidential documents.

    2.2 Human Judgment

Peer review must be conducted using the reviewer’s own scholarly expertise and critical judgment. Reviewers should not rely on AI tools to generate evaluation reports or make substantive assessments.

    2.3 Technical Assistance

Reviewers may use AI tools for minor language clarification in their review comments, provided that such use does not replace their independent academic evaluation.

    3. Use of AI by Editors 3.1 Protection of Manuscript Data

Editors must not upload manuscripts into AI tools unless the system ensures data protection and confidentiality. AI may only be used for technical checks where data security is guaranteed.

    3.2 Monitoring AI Use

Editors may use appropriate tools or procedures to detect potential undisclosed AI-generated content, particularly in cases involving:

    • Unverifiable references

    • Fabricated citations

    • Unusual linguistic patterns

    • AI-generated images or figures

    3.3 Technical Support Use

Editors may use AI for technical editorial tasks (e.g., formatting, language polishing, workflow support), provided it does not influence academic decision-making.

    4. Editorial Decisions Regarding AI Use 4.1 Fully AI-Generated Content

The journal does not accept manuscripts that are fully generated by AI or lack meaningful human intellectual contribution.

    4.2 Failure to Disclose

Failure to disclose significant AI use may result in rejection of the manuscript.

    4.3 Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions related to AI use by providing clear and verifiable explanations. Final decisions rest with the Editorial Board.

    4.4 Retraction

If undisclosed or inappropriate AI use is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and provide a transparent explanation on the journal website.

    Final Statement

This policy aligns with guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), adapted to the context of humanities and social sciences scholarship in the digital era.

Implementation of Article ID (e-Location ID) System

and Revision of Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Format

The Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Surindra Rajabhat University is committed to enhancing its journal management and publication system in accordance with nationally and internationally recognized scholarly publishing standards. The journal adheres to the evaluation criteria of the Thai Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) and aligns with international academic database practices in order to improve quality, credibility, transparency, and citation accuracy.

To comply with these standards, starting from the 2026 publication year onward, all published articles will adopt an Article ID (e-Location ID) system in place of continuous page numbering for the online format. Additionally, all articles will be registered with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) under the Crossref system.

    Article ID (e-Location ID) Format

Each article will be assigned a unique identifier in the following format:

    eX

    Where:

    • e = electronic article (international standard)

    • X = article number (corresponding to the Submission ID in the ThaiJO system)

    DOI Structure

The journal uses the following DOI Prefix:

    10.65205/jhssrru

The DOI Suffix corresponds to the Article ID system and follows the standard format:

    https://doi.org/10.65205/jhssrru.YYYY.eX

    Where:

    • YYYY = year of publication (A.D.)

    • e = electronic article

    • X = article number (identical to the Article ID)

    Purpose of the Implementation

The adoption of the Article ID (e-Location ID) system aims to ensure precise identification, citation, and indexing of articles in academic databases. This approach is consistent with contemporary digital publishing standards and supports online and open access journal dissemination.

This transition reflects the journal’s commitment to modernization, systematic publication management, and international best practices. It enhances global citation visibility and supports academic use of published works for professional and scholarly evaluation purposes.

    Note

The use of the Article ID (e-Location ID) system instead of continuous page numbering is widely recognized in international scholarly publishing and is fully compatible with TCI evaluation criteria.
