กลวิธีการแปลบทบรรยายใต้ภาพยนตร์

บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อวิเคราะห์และนำเสนอกลวิธีการแปลบทบรรยายใต้ภาพยนตร์จากต้นฉบับภาษาอังกฤษเป็นฉบับแปลภาษาไทย ที่แปลโดยนักแปลมืออาชีพ โดยการเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างบทบรรยายใต้ภาพของภาพยนตร์ภาษาอังกฤษยอดนิยมสูงสุดใน Box Office และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประเด็น ได้แก่ การวิเคราะห์กลวิธีการแปลโดยรวม ตามทฤษฎีของ Newmark (1988) และการวิเคราะห์กลวิธีการแปลเฉพาะส่วน ตามทฤษฎีของ Gottlieb (1992) ผลการวิเคราะห์พบว่า นักแปลมืออาชีพเลือกใช้กลวิธีการแปลโดยรวม 7 กลวิธี ได้แก่ การแปลสื่อความ (37%) การแปลแบบถอดความหมาย (29%) การแปลตรงตัว (20%) การไม่แปล (6%) การแปลแบบสำนวน (4.1%) การแปลแบบเสรี (2.3%) และการแปลตามตัวอักษร (1.6%) ตามลำดับ แสดงว่าผู้แปลให้ความสำคัญกับความหมายสื่อสารตามธรรมชาติ มากกว่าความหมายตรงตามต้นฉบับ ส่วนการวิเคราะห์กลวิธีการแปลเฉพาะส่วน พบว่ากลวิธีที่นักแปลเลือกใช้มากที่สุดจากทั้งหมด 19 กลวิธี ได้แก่ การละความ (17.7%) การขยายความ (17.6%) และการถอดความ (14%) ตามลำดับ แสดงให้เห็นว่า ผู้แปลมุ่งแก้ไขปัญหาความไม่กระชับของบทแปลมากที่สุด รองลงมาเพื่อแก้ปัญหาความไม่สมบูรณ์ของบทแปล และเพื่อแก้ปัญหาความแตกต่างกันของโครงสร้างภาษาคู่แปล ในจำนวนกลวิธีการแปลเฉพาะส่วนทั้งหมด 19 กลวิธี มีอยู่ 6 กลวิธีที่ค้นพบใหม่ในงานวิจัยนี้ ได้แก่ การเปลี่ยนคำ การเทียบคู่ปริบท การเทียบคู่เจตนาสื่อสาร การเทียบคู่ความไม่สุภาพ การเทียบคู่ความสุภาพ และการเทียบคู่กาล
