Abstract

Objective  The objectives of this study are 1) To study the level of parents' decision making in sending their children to Islamic Sciences Demonstration School, Prince of Songkla University. 2) To compare parents' decisions in sending their children to the Islamic Sciences Demonstration School, Prince of Songkla University. 3) To gather suggestions of parents' decisions in sending their children to the Islamic Sciences Demonstration School, Prince of Songkhla University    

Methodology  This study is an exploratory research used qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. The data was collected by focus group discussions from 18 representative parents of Mathayomsuksa 4-6 students. The data was collected by using questionnaires to support the data obtained from group discussions. The sample used in this study was 138 parents of Mathayomsuks 4-6 students. The research tool was a questionnaire created by the researcher with content accuracy between 0.66-1.00. The reliability was 0.98. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, One-way ANOVA and Scheffe's method ti define the different results.

Research finding The results of the data collection were supported by questionnaires and were consistent with the data obtained from focus group discussions as follows: 1. The overall and each side of the level of parents' decision to send their children to Islamic Science Demonstration School, Prince of Songkhla University are at a high level. 2. Comparing parents' decision to send their children to Islamic Sciences Demonstration School, Prince of Songkhla University is classified by level of education, occupation, and family income. It was found that the overall picture was not different.

Contributions It is taken the recommendations from the research as information to determine the main strategy of school development planning, to develop the school quality continuously and to adjust in the changes of the current era as follows: 1) in terms of curriculum development to be up-to-date to support various careers in the future such as language, entrepreneurship and business, etc. 2) individual student care must develop and support every student in every aspect according to the potential, aptitude and interest of the students.               3) communication and public relations between schools, students and parents must be quick, up-to-date, and change the school's operating plans to a minimum. 4) related to food, the school must consider the nutritional value, cleanliness, and hygiene. There is a wide variety of menus and sufficient for the number of students. 5) teachers and personnel of the school in taking care of students, positive psychology must be used. 6) school expenses should clarify tuition fees in detail and communicate to parents regularly. 7) academically, schools should promote and have more intense tutoring to prepare for university entrance exams and doing various activity tasks to gather a portfolio.        9) dormitory, it is important to improve the various services to be fast and sufficient for students.
