Teacher Attribute Variables in Infusing Islamic Manners (Adab) in Classroom: Scale Validation

The study attempts to empirically test the validity of the 4-factor structure of teacher attributes in infusing manners (adab) in classroom (iMIS). The Teacher Attributes Scale (TAS) was proposed which consisted of four latent variables namely: self-efficacy, values, Islamic work ethics and organizational commitment. The samples of 814 Muslim teachers of public primary schools in six provinces of Southern Thailand were selected by using simple random sampling. The survey instrument was administratered. Principle Components Analysis (PCA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were applied to arrive at the conclusions. The results of the study supported that the four factor model were generated by the data collected and the scales exhibited acceptable psychometric properties. Implications of the results are discussed.
