THE GUIDELINES DEVELOPMENT TO PERVENTING THE SPREAD OF THE CORONA VIRUS 2019 FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN WHO WERE ADMITTED AT HOSPITAL

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were to 1) develop practice guidelines to preventing the spread of the corona virus 2019, 2) study the effectiveness of practice guidelines to preventing the spread of the corona virus 2019 for parents of children who were admitted to the hospital, by research and development at Koh Samui Hospital. The samples were 5 nurses who developed practice guidelines, 60 parents who cared for children with coronavirus 2019, and 150 nurses who cared for children with coronavirus 2019. Research tools in conducting research were 1) guidelines to care for parents of children with corona virus 2019 for nurses, 2) questionnaire, practices to prevent infection with coronavirus 2019 and satisfaction with child care for parents 3) satisfaction questionnaire to use the guidelines for nurses. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistic, and paired t-test. The research results found that : The developed practice guidelines for preventing the spread of the corona virus 2019 was 1) Early care 2) Care while staying in the isolation room 3) Care when returning to quarantine at home. The results of using the developed practice guidelines were found that it made parents of children to have better knowledge about corona virus 2019, and better practices to prevent the spread of corona virus 2019 by statistically significant (P-value < 0.05), and overall, 57.1% of nurses were at high level of satisfaction, next, 42.9% were at moderate level of satisfaction. Therefore should be used this practice guidelines at Koh Samui Hospital and extended to other hospitals.
