Abstract

Background and Aims: The researcher is interested in studying administrators' roles in promoting and supporting students' artificial intelligence ethics awareness. This research aims to 1) study teachers' perceptions of administrators' roles in promoting and supporting students' artificial intelligence ethics awareness: a case study of a large school in Bangkok, 2) compare the differences between teachers' status in terms of gender, academic standing, learning subject groups, and their perceptions of administrators' roles in promoting and supporting students' artificial intelligence ethics awareness: a case study of a large school in Bangkok.

Methodology: The population in this research consisted of 80 government teachers from a large school in Bangkok. The research instrument was a questionnaire about the level of administrators' roles in promoting and supporting students' artificial intelligence ethics awareness, using a 5-point rating scale. The questionnaire had an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) between 0.80-1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.926. The statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

Results: The research findings revealed that (1) The overall level of teachers' perceptions of administrators' roles in a case study of a large school in Bangkok was high. When considering individual aspects, all aspects were at high levels, ranked by mean scores from highest to lowest as follows: personnel development, ethical role modeling, policy and vision setting, curriculum and instructional development, and stakeholder collaboration. (2) Comparing personal status characteristics showed that teachers who did not specify gender, assistant teachers, and teachers in the career and technology subject group had the highest mean perception scores in each aspect, comprising: Role in Policy and Vision Setting, Role in Curriculum and Instructional Development, Role in Personnel Development, Role in Stakeholder Collaboration, and Role in Being an Ethical Role Model.

Conclusion: Regarding administrators' roles in promoting and supporting students' artificial intelligence ethics awareness in a case study of a large school in Bangkok, it was found that teachers had high levels of perception towards administrators' management roles, particularly in personnel development and ethical role modeling. Furthermore, differences in personal status affected different levels of perception toward administrators' roles. These findings can be effectively applied to develop school administration by the needs of different teacher groups.
