A STUDY ON MATHAYOMSUKSA 1/6 STUDENTS’ MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES IN LEARNING RATIO THROUGH ACTIVE LEARNING IN CONJUNCTION WITH SSCS TEACHING TECHNIQUE

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to compare the Mathayomsuksa 1/6 (M.1/6) students’ mathematics problem solving abilities after learning Ratio through Active learning in conjunction with the SSCS teaching technique with the passing criterion of 70%, 2) to compare the M.1/6 students’ learning achievement on Ratio before and after receiving learning management activities using Active learning in conjunction with the SSCS teaching technique, and 3) to study the M.1/6 students’ satisfaction after learning Ratio through Active learning in conjunction with the SSCS teaching technique. The participants were 30 students obtained by using a purposive sampling from Mathayomsuksa 1/6 studying in semester2, academic year of 2020, at Phattharobophit School. All were from the same class. The research instruments were divided into 2 types: a quantitative data collection tool and a qualitative data collection tool. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that: 1) the M.1/6 students’ mathematics problem solving abilities after learning Ratio through Active learning in conjunction with the SSCS teaching technique was significantly higher than the passing criterion of 70% at the level of .05. 2) the M.1/6 students’ test scores of learning achievement on Ratio after receiving learning management activities using Active learning in conjunction with the SSCS teaching technique was higher than the test scores before the learning, and 3) the students’ satisfaction on the learning management received was at the moderate level.
