Event Management Evaluation of Asian Under 23 Fencing Championships 2019

Abstract

This research was the evaluation research by having the objectives which were 1. To evaluate the result of the event management of Asian under23 fencing championships 2019 and 2. To present the guideline in developing the fencing championships tournament. The quantitative and qualitative research were used in this Research, and divided into two parts were as follows: the first part was to evaluate the event management’s result which the data were collected by the questionnaire with non-statistics sample size, but magic number was used instead for defining the sample size. The sample size was 150 people. The second part was to evaluate the event management’s result, and presented the guideline in developing the fencing championships tournament which collected the data through the interview with 10 key informants, and analyzed the data by SPSS for finding the average, means, standard deviation, then presented in descriptive writing. 

       The result of the event management were as follows: 1) The event management in the resources management overall were high ( = 4.35, S.D. = 0.17) 2) The satisfaction of the event management’s result overall were high (  = 4.31, S.D. = 0.18) 3) The context and the standardized event management concept which was focused on the international event in Asia, and also became interested from the competitors who joined in the event. 4) The budget was received from the fencing confederation of Asia and the nation sports development funds for the event support system. In the private part, there was only support from the physician team from the private hospital. 5) Whereas the event management in the competition process, there was the meeting in the issue of assigning to each committee for following their tasks in period of times. And after the competition, there were conclusions in every issues and obstacles in order to fix, and will be improved in the future. 6) The event management’s result in the consequence aspect was the personnel development in the Thai fencing in terms of the athletes, the coaches, the event committees, and also the development in economics.     

       Furthermore, the guideline in developing the fencing championships tournament in the future is to increase the personnel in each department, and train them for developing the knowledge. They should ask for the help in the issue of technics from the private supporter more, purchase the modern equipment , and provide them for sufficient amount in tournament both national and international level by divided as ages group including with increasing the interesting in fencing sport towards people.
