The Development of Inquiry-Based Learning Activities with Social Media on Natural Disasters and the Environment For Mathayomsuksa 5 Students

This research aims to (1) develop inquiry-based learning activities with online social media related to natural disasters and the environment, (2) compare the learning effectiveness before and after the activities among 5th-year high school students who participated in the inquiry-based learning activities with online social media on natural disasters and the environment, (3) study the feasibility of using technology before and after learning, and (4) examine the satisfaction of 5th-year high school students with the organization of inquiry-based learning activities with online social media on natural disasters and the environment. The sample group for this research consists of 44 5th-year high school students from Sri Kranuan School, selected through random sampling. The research tools include a learning management plan, a test measuring learning effectiveness, a questionnaire assessing technological competence, and a satisfaction survey. Data analysis involves calculating percentages, averages, standard deviations, and conducting a Dependent Samples t-test for hypothesis testing.
The research findings indicate that (1) the development of inquiry-based learning activities with online social media is highly effective, with a mean score of 84.60/81.14, surpassing the established criteria. (2) The learning effectiveness, as measured by academic performance, after participating in the inquiry-based learning activities with online social media, is significantly higher than before at a statistical significance level of .05. (3) The overall technological competence of students in utilizing technology for the inquiry-based learning activities with online social media is at the highest level (Mean = 4.77, S.D. = 0.40). (4) The overall satisfaction of students with the organization of inquiry-based learning activities with online social media is at the highest level (Mean = 4.80, S.D. = 0.49).
