THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER ORDER THINKING COMPETENCY USING GPAS 5 STEPS WITH SOCIAL MEDIA IN SOCIAL STUDIES S 23103 OF GRADE 9 STUDENTS

Abstract

The purposes of research are that students in grade 9, firstly, improve their ability of high-level thought in S23101 of grade 9 students by the GPAS 5 steps procedure and online social media There are no less than 70 percentage getting scores about the ability of high-level thought as capability level. Secondly, these research was conducted in order to study pleasant of students in grade 9 in the GPAS 5 steps procedure and online social media. The target group in this research is the 14 students who study in semester 2 in 2023 grade 9 in Nonngamsuksa School, using action research as tools in this research. The devices used in this research include a device used in operation test - lesson plan by using the GPAS 5 steps procedure and grade 9 online social media with 6 lesson plans in 12 hours. Another device for reflection the result of performance is the record form about the result of lesson plans, observation form about teachers’ behavior in teaching, measurement form about high-level thought and interview form the students about the lesson plan. Next device in assessment of efficiency about the lesson plans is measurement form about high-level thought and questionnaire form about peasant. It can be calculated by using average standard deviation and percentage.

The results of this research can indicate that there are, firstly, 12 students or about 85.71 percentage as high-level thought, which is above the level which was predicted. The students can get scores about the ability of high-level thought as capability level and there are over 70 percentage of all students passing. Secondly, grade 9 students’ peasant in GPAS 5 steps procedure and social media can be obvious for improvement the ability of high-level thought - good level of their peasant. (x ̅ = 4.44, S.D. = 0.82)
