Adoption of the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Of Organic Farmers.

This research objectives were 1) to study basic personal and economic factors. 2) to study knowledge of organic agriculture 3) to study media exposure of organic agriculture 4) to study Adoption of the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Of organic farmers in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. 5) to study relationship between basic personal and economic factors, knowledge and media exposure of organic agriculture to Adoption of the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Of organic farmers in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The sample group of this study was 220 organic farmers and farmers who are interested in producing organic crops in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Data were collected by using an questionnaire. Data analysis implied descriptive statistics such as descriptive and inferential statistics. Statistic to examine the hypothesis were Chi – square.
The results found that 1) most farmers were female, elementary education level, the average age was 47.84 years, the average occupation period was 19.03 years in crop production, nature of land ownership is land owners, the source of organic products is sold by merchants to buy, the average agricultural holding area is 13.61 rai, with an average organic crop production area of 2.61 rai, the average household agricultural labor force of 2.20 people has an average production cost of 5,635.71 baht/rai/year, the average yield of 512.79 kg/rai, and the average income from organic crops is 13,063.57 baht/rai/year. 2) Knowledge of organic agriculture by organic farmers, at a high level. 3) Most farmers have media exposure of organic agriculture Personal media from a farmer friend, activity media from training, Mass media from Internet and Social. 4) Adoption of the participatory organic standard (PGS) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya of organic farmers, overall at a high level. The hypothesis testing found that basic personal and economic factors such as gender, education, holding area, nature of land ownership, agricultural labor, production cost, source of organic produce. and knowledge of organic agriculture have a relationship with Adoption of the participatory organic standard (PGS) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Of organic farmers in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
