The Satisfaction of People with the Government Welfare Card Project in Maha Sarakham Province

Abstract

          The purpose of the study was to study the level of satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project, to compare the satisfaction people regarding age, educational level, occupation and average annual income and to find useful suggestions for the government welfare card project in Maha Sarakham Province. The research samples consisted of 400 residents in Maha Sarakham Province participating in the government welfare card project. Taro Yamane's formula was used for calculating the sample size. The data was collected by a questionnaire with the .95 reliability index. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and one-way analysis of variance F-test (One-Way ANOVA).

          Results of the study were as follows 1) The study findings showed that the overall satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project in Maha Sarakham province was at a high level. The five high rated items of the project were information received from the service (X= 4.22; SD = 0.89), time of operation (X=4.21; SD = 0.92), service personnel (X= 4.19; SD = 0.92) convenience in providing the service (X= 4.11; SD = 0.92) and quality of the service (X= 4.07; SD = 0.88) respectively. 2) The results indicated the satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project in Maha Sarakham Province regarding the comparison of the different ages, educational levels, occupations and average annual incomes were as follows. 2.1) The satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project regarding the different ages was different at the 0.05 level of the statistical significance. 2.2) The satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project regarding the different educational levels was not significantly different. 2.3) The satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project regarding the different occupations was different at the 0.05 level of the statistical significance. The people were satisfied with quality of the services, duration of the operation and information received from the services. 2.4) The satisfaction of people with the government welfare card project regarding the different average annual incomes was not significantly different. 3) The most frequent suggestions for the government welfare card project in Maha Sarakham Province, the government should improve the public relations of the government welfare card project. The people should be provided more and clearly information about the benefits of the government welfare card in buying goods and other services. The service officers should be trained more for efficient services of the government welfare card project. The officers should visit people who have got the benefits and have not got the benefits of the government welfare card in their areas for providing all right people to accessible to the government welfare card project.
