The Development of Conscience of Citizenship According’ to Buddhism in Thai Society
Abstract
This research There are 3 objectives: 1) to study the concept of citizenship conscious theory 2) to study the development of citizenship consciousness according to Buddhism in Thai society; 3) to build a network of citizenship consciousness according to the Buddhism concept in Thai society. Qualitative research uses questionnaires and in-depth interviews from target groups. 200 open-ended questions were interviewed for Mathayomsuksa 4-6 students who analyzed data using inductive descriptive method.
That citizenship consciousness Must cultivate 3 aspects: 1) Law is the rules that govern the behavior of people in society. And is a convention or rules governing moral behavior, customs, customs and law To be a good citizen of society. 2) Ethics is a principle that is a practice. As an expression of behavior And 3) virtue is the virtue which is the right attribute or state of the human mind. It is goodness which is an abstract state in the mind. The development of legal citizenship consciousness Thais must develop consciousness by performing their duties according to the constitution: 1) In Article 70, a person has the duty to protect, preserve the nation, religion, the King. And democratic governance with the King as the Head of State under the Constitution. 2) In Section 71, a person has a duty to defend the country. Protect the interests of the nation 3) In Section 72, a person has the duty to exercise the right to vote, that is, a person who exercises his right or does not exercise his right without giving a reasonable cause that prevents him from exercising his right. Accepting the right or losing the right under the Act and the notification of the grounds for the inability to go to an election and the facilitation of the election shall be as provided by law. 4) In Article 73, a person has the duty of serving in the military. Help in disaster prevention and mitigation, public taxation, government assistance Receive education, training, protection, protection and inheritance of national arts, culture and local wisdom. And conservation of natural resources and the environment, as provided by law and 5) in Section 74 persons who are government officials, employees of government agencies. Government agencies, state enterprises, or other state owners Has a duty to operate in accordance with the law to protect common interests. Power, convenience and service to the people in accordance with the principles of good governance governance Which in performing duties and in other operations involving people The development of citizenship consciousness according to the Buddhism approach Must be developed according to the four principles of Brahma: 1) mercy is love, good desire, wants him to be happy; Neutral trust The six principles are: 1) Compassion Acrobatics is to show goodwill and hope for everyone by helping them. 2) Compassion. Suggest, teach, and exhort with good hope. Thinking and doing things that are beneficial to each other. 4) The public is sharing material things. Or doing public benefits together. Does not make himself offensive 6) Tithi Commonyta Is to listen to the opinions of others with equality Secular principle Which is a principle that brings peace and happiness And have prosperity and stability in the rule of the House of the laity Dhamma 4 points are 1) truth is faithful Sincere and loyal to each other. 2) Thama is a restraint. Or restraint in the mood. 3) Patience is patience in the profession. And tolerate obstacles. 4) Ophthalmia is to be generous to share their things with others. And Sangkhahawatthu Which is the practice of the people in society To hold each other's spirit And Sangkhahawat 4 things are: 1) sharing, sharing, generosity, and generosity; Is to use the word of honor to honor others 3) attitude to benefit him Is giving up physical strength to help others and 4) Samanatta always keeps himself in the process of working together to solve problems If following the principle As mentioned above, it will be able to develop citizenship consciousness. And building a network of citizenship consciousness according to the Buddhism concept in Thai society Must create a network in educational institutions mainly in schools, vocational institutions And universities In the northern area of Lampang Province Northeastern Region, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province Central region Nakhon Pathom And southern Pattani By the secondary school students in years 4-5-6, they developed a sense of citizenship in accordance with Buddhism and the constitutional law principles in Section 70, Section 71, Section 73, Section 74 and the principles of Buddhism, namely: Sarthiyadhamma 6, Brahma Vihara 4, Layas Dharma 4, and Sangahawatthu. 4 In training youth to have a sense of citizenship
