Abstract

          The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the components to develop analytical thinking skills of students 2) study the current and the desirable state of the teacher development for developing analytical thinking skills of students 3) develop the teacher development model for developing analytical thinking skills of students 4) study the results of the experimental model. The research was divided into four phases as follow; phase 1; study the components to develop analytical thinking skills of students. This was done by synthesizing information In-depth interviews with experts. stage 2; study the current and the desirable state of the teacher development for developing analytical thinking skills of students. This was done by working with 186 school administrators and teachers. The research instrument was questionnaire. stage 3 develop the teacher development model for developing analytical thinking skills of students. This was done by a group of 12 experts for focus group discussion. and stage 4; study the results of the experimental model. This was done 16 school with a target group of 32 people.

The results found that:

  1. the components to develop analytical thinking skills of students consisted of 3 major, Include 1) Questioning 2) Rational association and 3) Analytical thinking including 2 sub-components and 7 indicators
  2. The current state in overall was high average and the desirable state in overall was in the highest level. The priority need rank from high to low level was questioning, thinking and Rational association.
  3. The model comprised of 1) principles 2) objectives 3) content activities 4) development process and 5) assessment. The result of evaluation for accuracy, propriety, feasibility and utility was the highest in overall.
  4. The result of the experiment using the teacher development model for developing analytical thinking skills of students was in the highest level of the average and satisfaction at the highest level.
